Arguing with the ref almost never changes the call. It does change how the ref sees you.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
Officials almost never reverse themselves under pressure, because doing it once invites the next twenty arguments. What your protest does change is what the person in charge expects from you for the rest of the game, and sometimes the rest of the season. You spend credit to buy nothing, then find you wanted that credit back on a close call later.
Choose one response and have it ready before kickoff: a nod, or letting the captain ask. Put the energy into the next play, which is the only part still available to you. Save complaints for after the whistle, where they cost you nothing.
Which argument do you keep having with someone who cannot help?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
