Waiting for the perfect option usually means taking whatever’s left.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Options do not sit still while you think. The good flat gets taken, the shift gets filled, the class closes, and what is left at the end is what nobody else wanted, which is how holding out for the best can hand you the worst. Holding off feels like keeping your choices open when it is actually spending them.

For the next real decision, set both a standard and a date: good enough looks like this, and I choose by Friday. Take the first thing that clears the bar instead of the best thing that might turn up. A decent choice can usually be improved later.
