Bold plans still need a Plan B written down. Courage and a backup aren’t enemies.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
A backup does not reduce your commitment, it makes the commitment affordable. Knowing what you would do if it fails removes the quiet terror that is actually making you hesitate, which is why people with a fallback take bigger swings rather than smaller ones. Written down matters too, since a vague sense that you would cope is not a plan.
Put your main plan on paper and under it write the two lines of what happens if it does not work. Be specific about the first week after. Then stop thinking about it and go hard at the main plan, since that is what the backup was for.
Does your current plan have a written backup, or just hope?
