The first jump after a knee injury is scarier than any jump before it. Doing it is the real final step of rehab.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

A knee is usually ready before the person attached to it is. Strength comes back on something like a schedule, and trust does not, because your head has stored the exact moment the thing gave out and plays it back at the worst time. That is why the last stretch of getting better is not physical at all. It is the first landing that teaches your body the memory is not a forecast.

Clear it with whoever has been treating you, then do a smaller version first. Half height, soft surface, nobody watching. Let the full one come after that one is boring.
