Courage in a hallway often looks boring: a hand on a shoulder, a “you good?”, a seat saved.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
We expect courage to be loud, so the version that actually helps people goes almost entirely unrecognised. A hand on a shoulder, a short question, a seat kept free: none of it looks like anything from two metres away, and all of it requires you to step out of the flow of a corridor and be briefly conspicuous. The person receiving it remembers it for a very long time.
Ask one person this week whether they are alright, and then wait through the first answer for the second one.
Who in your hallway could use a saved seat tomorrow?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
