Getting on stage at the talent show is less about talent and more about being willing to be seen.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

The hard part is not whether you are any good. It is that standing on a stage hands other people a few minutes to form an opinion while you are right there watching them do it. Being good only decides what the opinion is about. Plenty of unremarkable acts get remembered warmly because somebody was willing to get up there and try.

If you want something like that, lower the stage first. Play it for three friends in a kitchen this week. Then the real version is only a bigger room, not a new experience.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Where are you willing to be seen without being good yet?
