Saying “this isn’t for me” after trying something is just as brave as saying yes at the start.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Quitting after a real attempt and quitting before one are entirely different acts, even though they share a word. Having tried, you now have evidence, and acting on evidence is not weakness. What makes it hard is the audience, the time already spent, and the story you had started telling about yourself. Stopping on purpose frees those hours for something that fits better, which is a decision rather than a failure.

Before you stop, give it one honest month at full effort so you know what you are deciding about. Then say it plainly once and do not relitigate it weekly.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

What have you tried long enough to honestly stop?
