RESILIENCE
People who do genuinely dangerous work are not the ones without fear. They are the ones who have turned fear into procedure: checks, gear, limits they will not cross, a plan for getting out. Fearlessness in that world gets people hurt, because fear is the part of you that is paying attention. The aim is not to stop feeling it, but to stop letting it either freeze you or go ignored.
Pick the thing you are going at hard this season, on a bike, in a gym, on a road. Name the one or two risks that would actually ruin it, and take the boring precaution every time.
