Price compares products; value compares outcomes.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Comparing on price means comparing objects. Comparing on value means comparing what happens in your life afterward, which is a different question and usually leads somewhere else. Two things with the same function can produce entirely different outcomes, and the cheaper one is sometimes the one that produces none.
When deciding between options, describe the outcome you want rather than the item. Then ask which one actually delivers it. Sometimes the answer is neither, which is the most useful result of all.
Which decision did you make on cost alone and regret?
