Put your name on it. Owning your work, flaws included, is part of growing as an artist.

CREATIVITY

WHAT THIS MEANS

Ownership and growth are tied together. Attaching your name to something imperfect means accepting that this is where you are, which is uncomfortable and also the only honest place to improve from. Work kept nameless stays outside your record, so nothing accumulates and nothing can be built on. Flaws included is the important part.

Sign or credit the next thing you make even if you can already see what is wrong with it. Keep a running list of what you have finished with your name on it. Read the list on the days you feel you have made nothing.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Could you own the flaws in your work out loud?
