Make art about your actual problems. Strangers will recognize their own in it.

Specific trouble is more recognisable than general trouble. Writing about your own argument with your mother, your own money worry, your own silence at a lunch table gives a stranger something precise enough to lay their own version over. People do not recognise themselves in summaries. They recognise themselves in a detail that belongs to somebody else.
Choose one thing that is actually bothering you and write the smallest true detail of it. Resist the urge to make it universal. Let someone read it and notice whether they start telling you about theirs.
Have you assumed nobody else has your problem?
