Critique the work, not the person. “This part drags” helps. “You’re not creative” never does.

Useful feedback points at something that can be changed. Saying a section drags identifies a problem with a location and a possible fix, while calling somebody uncreative describes a person and leaves them nowhere to go. The second kind feels like honesty and functions as damage. Keeping notes on the object is what lets a group keep working together.
When you give feedback this week, name a specific moment and say what happened to your attention there. Avoid any sentence with you are in it. Ask for the same in return, out loud, before you hand your work over.
Have you ever criticized the person when you meant the work?
