Your teacher can explain it. Only you can do the practice problems. Nobody can lift that for you.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Watching someone solve a problem builds recognition rather than ability, and the two feel similar right up until the test. Understanding transfers in the explanation; skill only comes from your own hands being wrong and then right. That is why a lesson can feel completely clear and still leave you unable to start question one. Nobody can hand across the part where your brain does the work.

After the next lesson, close everything and do three problems with no help. Note exactly where you get stuck, because that spot is the real content of the lesson. Bring that spot back to your teacher rather than a general fog.
