Finishing ten minor things cannot always compensate for avoiding one major thing.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Completing many small things produces a genuine feeling of accomplishment that has no relationship to what the day required. The one difficult item remains exactly where it was, and each cleared minor task makes it slightly easier to justify not starting. The productivity is real and it is also the mechanism of the avoidance.

Notice which task has now survived three days on your list. That survival is the signal. Give it thirty minutes before anything else tomorrow.
