If you’re always rushing, you’re probably not working too hard. You’re starting too late.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Chronic rushing usually points at a timing problem rather than a workload problem, and the two feel identical from inside the panic. Starting late compresses everything into the smallest possible window, which makes the same amount of work feel enormous and leaves no room for the inevitable snag. The fix is unglamorous and almost always available. Earlier is easier rather than longer.

Take the thing you are always late on and move its start forward by two days. Change nothing else about how you work. Then compare how the week feels, and keep the earlier start if the panic drops.
