Hustle that wrecks your sleep isn’t discipline. It’s debt in a nicer outfit.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Sleep is not spare time you get to spend. Work that eats into it borrows from tomorrow at a terrible rate, and you repay in slower thinking, worse mood and the mistakes that come with both. Staying up looks like discipline because it looks like effort, but discipline is deciding what to cut, and most late nights are a decision not to. The bill still arrives, just a day behind.

Set a stop time for tonight and treat it as fixed. If the work will not fit before it, something earlier in the day has to give instead of your rest.
