A teacher who corrects you is investing in you. The scary one is the teacher who stopped bothering.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Correction is a sign of investment. Telling you what is wrong costs effort and risks an awkward moment, so people generally only bother when they think you can get better. Silence is far more comfortable for them and much worse for you. A teacher who has given up on you will be perfectly pleasant about it.

When somebody corrects you this week, notice that they spent something to do it. Say thanks and ask what they would do instead. If a teacher has gone quiet on you, go and ask for the note they have stopped giving.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Who still bothers to correct you, and have you thanked them?
