A day should not be judged solely by how much of it became work.

A day is more than its output. The hours that produced nothing, the walk, the conversation, the time spent with someone, are not a shortfall to be explained. Judging every day by what it produced turns your whole life into an input for something else that never quite arrives.
Try ending a day by naming one good thing in it that had nothing to do with work. It is a small habit and it slowly changes what you think a day is for.
What made yesterday good that had nothing to do with work?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
