Show up to rehearsal knowing your part. Being prepared is how you respect everyone else’s time.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Turning up unprepared spends other people’s time instead of your own. A group can only move at the pace of its least ready member, so an hour of rehearsal becomes an hour of catching you up, which nobody signed on for. Preparation is a courtesy as much as a skill. It is also what lets the group do the work it came to do.

Work out the minimum you could know before the next practice or group meeting: your lines, your part, the chapter. Do that the day before, not in the car. If you genuinely ran out of time, say so at the start, not after people discover it.
