Discipline is mostly deciding things once. Same bedtime, same bag by the door, fewer daily debates.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
A lot of what feels like weak willpower is just too many open questions. Every detail left undecided becomes a small negotiation at the worst possible moment, when you are tired and the easy option is nearby. Deciding once, in advance, removes the argument rather than winning it. People who seem disciplined usually just have fewer live debates in their day.
Settle two or three recurring questions this week and stop revisiting them: bedtime, where the bag lives, when you study. Write them down so they read as facts rather than intentions. Keep them boringly the same for a fortnight before adjusting anything.
Could you end a daily debate by deciding it once?
