Some prayer requests are just gossip with a holy accent. Know the difference.

Concern makes a useful disguise for curiosity. A private detail becomes repeatable the moment you attach a worried tone to it, and everybody in the circle gets to hear it while feeling kind. The test is simple and unflattering: would the person at the centre of this be glad you said it in this room. If the answer is no, the tone does not fix it.

Before you pass something on this week, run that one check. If you cannot ask them, say less than you know and keep the rest. Guarding a detail nobody would have blamed you for sharing is its own small discipline.
