Some weeks faith is a song you belt. Some weeks it’s a hum you barely keep going.

GRATITUDE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Intensity is not the measure of anything. Some weeks everything is loud and certain and you could explain what you believe to a stranger on a bus; other weeks it is a thin thread you are keeping hold of without much feeling attached. The hum and the belt are the same instrument at different volumes. Trouble starts when you decide only the loud weeks are the genuine ones and quietly disqualify yourself the rest of the time.

Keep the hum going this week rather than waiting to feel like belting. One line, one minute, one habit kept. Volume can come back later.
