Faith that has never been questioned hasn’t really been tested yet.

Anything you have never stress-tested is an assumption rather than a conviction. Belief that has only ever been agreed with, in rooms where everybody agrees, has not yet met the weather. Questions are not the opposite of faith; they are how it finds out what it is made of. The people with the sturdiest version of it are almost always the ones who went through a stretch of not being sure.

Write down the question you have been avoiding this week and take it to one person who will not panic at it. Not to settle it. To stop carrying it in secret.
