Being sad in front of God is allowed. A lot of the Psalms are basically complaints with faith in them.

Sadness does not need to be cleaned up before it is allowed through the door. People assume that honest complaint is the opposite of faith, when a great deal of the oldest praying on record is exactly that: furious, bewildered, unresolved, and still addressed to somebody. Faith is in the fact that you took it there rather than in the tone you used. A complaint with an address is not the same as despair.

Say the unflattering version this week, the one with the anger still in it. No tidying it into something more acceptable first.
