Peter walked on water while he looked at Jesus and started sinking once he noticed the wind. Focus is a faith decision.

GRATITUDE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Attention is doing more work than you think. He managed the impossible part while he was looking at one thing, and he started going under the moment the weather became the main object of his focus. The wind was always there. What changed was which of the two things was filling his field of view, and that is a choice you make repeatedly rather than a mood that happens to you.

Notice what you are looking at this week when panic starts. Then deliberately put your eyes back on the thing in front of you, the next step, the next question, the person speaking.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Does a worry pull your eyes off what you were doing?
