In Elisha’s day, a widow’s oil kept pouring until she ran out of empty jars. Bring more jars than feels reasonable.

The supply ran out at the edge of her preparation, not at the edge of itself. However much there was going to be, the jars she had already collected set the limit, and that detail is worth sitting with. Most people arrange their lives around the smallest plausible outcome, then describe the resulting shortage as realism. Preparing for more than you expect feels foolish right up to the point where it does not.
Prepare slightly beyond what you think is reasonable this week. Apply for the one you will not get, cook extra, ask for the bigger thing.
Where have you asked for less than you actually could?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
