Prayer requests in small group are a trust exercise. Guard them like they’re yours.

GRATITUDE

WHAT THIS MEANS

When somebody tells a room what they are frightened about, they are handing over something that can be used against them. Most of the value in a group like that depends on nothing leaking, and one repetition outside the room ends it for everybody, not just for the person you talked about. Being trustworthy is unglamorous and almost entirely invisible. It consists of things you did not say.

Treat what you heard this week as though it were your own information. If you catch yourself about to pass it on, stop mid-sentence. Awkward beats careless.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Do you treat someone else’s prayer request as your own secret?
