Sometimes you forgive people who never apologize. It’s not for their record. It’s for your peace.

Some apologies are never coming. Waiting for one keeps the whole matter open and leaves your peace sitting in somebody else’s hands, which is a strange arrangement given what they did with it the first time. Letting go in that situation is not a favour to them and does not go on any record. It is you deciding to stop paying rent on something you did not break.

If you are waiting, consider releasing it this week without telling them. Say it to yourself, or write it down and get rid of the paper.
