Nothing you have done has come as a surprise. The worst hour of your life, the thing you cannot say out loud, the thing you are sure would change how people see you, was all visible in advance and the staying happened anyway. That is a different proposition from being loved by somebody who has not yet found out. It means your secret is not currently holding anything together.
Tell one trustworthy person this week if you can bear it. The relief is mostly in discovering that the secret was doing all the work.
