Watching the babies so a single mom can sit through one sermon might be the best hour you give all week.

GRATITUDE
An hour of childcare buys somebody something they cannot get any other way. A parent on their own almost never gets to sit through anything uninterrupted, follow a thought to the end, or be in a room as an adult rather than as a supervisor. Giving them that is not a small favour dressed up as a big one. It is one of the few genuinely useful things a sixteen-year-old can hand an exhausted adult.
Offer one specific hour this week rather than a general willingness to help sometime. Name the day and turn up for it.
Whose hour could you free up by taking something off them?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
