Comparing your calling to someone else’s is like a foot being jealous it isn’t a hand. You’re on the same body.

GRATITUDE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Comparison assumes everybody is in the same competition, which is what makes it pointless. A foot resenting not being a hand has misunderstood the arrangement, since the two are parts of something that needs both. Jealousy inside a group is a sign you have started scoring your own side. The question is never who got the better role.

Notice who you measure yourself against, and whether you are on the same team as them. Then find the thing only you are placed to do this week and do that. Being glad about someone else’s strength is a skill you can practise.
