Character is set in the moments where nobody would ever find out. No one is checking whether you counted the change, which is exactly why the counting matters. Each time a mistake goes your way and you say nothing, you teach yourself a small lesson about who you are. Each time you speak up, you teach the opposite one.

Watch for an error in your favor this week: wrong change, an extra item in the bag, a grade you know you did not earn. Say something the first time you notice, before the arithmetic of keeping it starts.
