Reading out loud to your little sister is presence in its simplest form. She’ll remember your voice.

Presence does not need equipment. Sitting with a kid and doing voices badly for fifteen minutes is the whole thing: your attention, aimed at one person, with no other task running. She will not remember the book. She will remember that you were there and what your voice sounded like doing it, which is a strange and reliable fact about what children keep.
Read to somebody small twice this week. Let her pick, even if it is the same one again, and do not rush the ending.
Which younger kid would sit still just to hear you read?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
