Changing for someone else rarely lasts. Changing for a reason you actually believe in tends to stick.
CREATIVITY
CREATIVITY
A change you took on to satisfy somebody runs on their attention, and attention moves. The moment they stop checking, or stop being around, the only thing holding the new behaviour up is gone, and you slide back without ever deciding to. A reason that belongs to you keeps working on a bad Tuesday when nobody is watching.
Try writing your reason in one sentence without naming a single person in it. If the sentence collapses, you have found something worth knowing before you spend three months on it. If it holds, you have something to read back the week you want to quit.
Which change of yours is running on somebody else’s wish?
