Sometimes the brave move is quitting the thing everyone expects you to keep doing.

Carrying on can be the easy option wearing the costume of commitment. If everybody expects it, nobody asks you to justify it, and you can spend years inside something you would not choose today because stopping requires a conversation. The courage is not in the sticking. It is in being willing to disappoint people who are used to a version of you.

Ask whether you would sign up for it today, with no history and nobody watching. If the answer is no, say it out loud to one person you trust before you say it to anyone else.
