A second attempt is cheaper than the first. You already paid for the confusion.

CREATIVITY

WHAT THIS MEANS

Nearly all of what the first attempt cost you was not the work. It was the confusion: not knowing the shape of the thing, the order, what mattered. That tuition is already paid and you keep it whether or not the first attempt went well. A second run buys only the work, at a fraction of the price.

So go again sooner rather than later, while the map is still in your head. The retake, the second draft, the same dish, the same route. Write down three things you now know before you start, and you will feel exactly how much cheaper it is.
