Not every loss is a lesson. Some losses are just losses, and you’re allowed to grieve them.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
There is a habit of turning everything painful into material, as though a loss only counts once you can say what it taught you. Sometimes nothing is in there to extract. The other team was better, the timing was bad, somebody got hurt, and demanding a lesson is another way of refusing to let it just be sad.
Let a recent one stay a loss for a while. Say it plainly to somebody without adding a silver lining at the end. Anything useful will still be there next month, when you are less raw.
