Not every change needs a reaction right away. Some of them just need you to sit and let it land.

The pressure to have a position immediately is mostly external. Big news arrives and something in you wants to decide what it means straight away, when the honest answer is that you do not know yet. Sitting with something unresolved is not passivity; it is letting information arrive before you commit to a story about it.
Give the next unexpected thing a couple of days before you decide anything. Write down what you noticed rather than what you concluded. If somebody is pushing for an answer, say you will come back to them tomorrow.
Do you need quiet time before reacting to recent news?
