CREATIVITY

WHAT THIS MEANS

Children learn from what they watch, and the explanations come much later if at all. You saw how anger was handled, how affection was shown, what happened when money was short, long before anyone described any of it in words. By the time you get the reasoning, the pattern is already installed. Demonstration always beats instruction.

If you are around children, assume they are learning your behavior rather than your advice. And in your own life, ask which of your default reactions came from something you watched at seven. That question locates more than most self-analysis does.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

What did you learn by watching long before anyone explained it?
