Your parents are still growing too. Give them some of the grace you want.

Adults get treated as finished, as though whatever they are now was settled years ago. They are in fact still working things out, changing their minds, getting things wrong and occasionally learning something, which is easy to miss when you are the one being parented. The patience you want from them is the same patience they are short of.
Give one of them the benefit of the doubt this week in a situation where you usually would not. Assume they are trying with what they have. It will not fix anything on its own, and it does change what the next conversation can be.
