Your old posts are a record of who you were, not a contract for who you have to stay.

Everything you ever posted is still sitting there in the same tone of voice, which makes it easy to feel bound by it. A record is not a promise. The fourteen year old who typed that was working with what they had, and you are allowed to have moved without issuing a correction.

If something old makes you wince, decide whether it needs deleting or only needs letting go. Say the newer thing somewhere out loud instead of defending the older one. Nobody is holding you to a position you took in eighth grade.
