Quitting piano after eight years doesn’t delete the eight years. Your hands still know where middle C lives.

CREATIVITY
Skills do not evaporate when you stop practising them. They go quiet, which feels identical to gone until the moment you sit down and find your hands have kept a surprising amount. Eight years of anything leaves structure behind: an ear, a sense of timing, a tolerance for slow progress.
If you walked away from something you were good at, go back to it once with no plan to resume. Play, draw, shoot, run, whatever it was, for twenty minutes. Knowing it is still in there changes how stopping feels.
Which instrument do your fingers still remember without you trying?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
