Learning in public is embarrassing at first. It’s also how other beginners find you and ask you for help.

Being visibly bad at something costs a little pride and buys you a signal. Everybody hiding their practice looks finished, which leaves beginners with nowhere to go, so the one person who admits to learning becomes the one people approach. Six months of visible work can make you the most useful person in the room for anyone starting out.
Share something unfinished this week: a question in class, a draft, a clip, an admission that you are new to this. Keep it plain and skip the apology. Then answer the first person who asks you something, because they will.
What skill would you be willing to practice badly in public?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
