A private life gives public opinion less material to manage.

LEADERSHIP
Opinion needs input. The more of your life is visible, the more there is for people to have views about, and the more time you spend responding to those views. A quieter life is not more virtuous; it is simply less work, because there is less to explain, defend, or correct. The management costs scale with the exposure.
Ask how much of your week goes to handling other people’s reactions to things you told them. If it is substantial, share less for a while and notice the relief. You can be open with a few people without being open generally.
How much of your day would you be comfortable having seen?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
