For somebody, your team is the best part of their week. Lead like that’s true.

Somewhere on your team is a person for whom this is the best thing in their week, and you will probably never be told who. They may be quiet about it, or unremarkable at the activity, or the one who always arrives early. The ordinary thing you are running is load-bearing for somebody, which is reason enough to take the atmosphere seriously.

Assume it is true and run the session as though somebody is counting on it being decent. Greet people by name as they come in. Protect whatever makes it worth turning up for.
