Your enthusiasm gives other people permission to care without getting called a try-hard.

LEADERSHIP

WHAT THIS MEANS

Caring openly carries a social risk, so most people wait to see whether it is safe here. When one person is plainly invested and does not get punished for it, the rule changes for everybody standing behind them. You absorb the cost once so that others do not have to. Groups that look indifferent are often just waiting for somebody to go first.

Let yourself be visibly keen about one thing this week instead of hedging it with a joke. When somebody else shows they care, back them up quickly and plainly. Never be the person who makes a joke at their expense.
