Leading is choosing which problems to solve today and having the nerve to let the others wait.

LEADERSHIP
Everything cannot be urgent, and treating it that way gives the important thing the same attention as the merely annoying one. Choosing means deliberately leaving some problems alone while people complain about them, which takes more nerve than being busy does. Most of the strain in the job comes from trying to dodge that choice. The cost of any decision is whatever you did not pick.
Write down what is bothering your group and circle one thing to deal with this week. Tell everybody the others are waiting, and roughly until when. Do not quietly try to handle them all at once.
Which problem will you deliberately leave alone this week?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
