A tourist spends a weekend somewhere and leaves with stories. You’ve lived in your town for years. Where are yours?
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
The difference is not the place, it is the posture. A visitor arrives expecting to do things, talks to strangers, and treats two days as scarce. A resident has unlimited time and therefore uses none of it, because anything available tomorrow can wait. Familiarity does not remove the material; it removes the urgency.
Give yourself a deadline you do not actually have. Pick three things in your town to do before the end of the month, as though you were leaving. Take somebody with you, since the stories come from who was there.
Could you tell a visitor one story about home?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
