Migrating birds stop to refuel along the way. A pause on a long trip isn’t failure. It’s part of the route.

Rest has a bad reputation because it gets filed as an interruption of the work rather than a component of it. On any long effort the stopping is built in; nothing runs continuously, and the breaks are what make the following stretch possible. Treating a pause as weakness just means you take it late, badly, and with guilt attached.
Build the stop into the plan rather than waiting until you collapse into it. One evening a week with nothing scheduled, a day off the training block. Planned rest costs less than the unplanned kind.
Where on a long effort do you refuse to stop?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
