Talk to someone sixty years older than you. You’ll hear what actually mattered.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
People at the far end of a life have already run the experiment you are in the middle of, and what they talk about is noticeably not what you are currently anxious about. Grades, status and most arguments do not make the list. What comes up is people, work they were proud of, and time they wish they had spent differently.
Find somebody much older and ask what actually mattered, then let them talk. A grandparent, a neighbour, somebody at a club or a church, and an hour is plenty.
Who in your life is sixty years ahead?
